Sustainability
Let us take you on a journey on how we are pushing for sustainable best practices throughout our operations to truly define our organic olive oil and stay in line with our spirit and traditions. TMH is dedicated to adress all of it's relevant emissions (scope-1, -2 and relevant scope-3 emissions). Trust me Habibi is following the Green House Gas Protocol (GHG).

What are scope-1, -2 and -3 emissions?
Scope 1 Emissions
These are direct emissions from sources owned or controlled by a company, such as emissions from fuel combustion in vehicles or factory machinery.
Scope 2 Emissions
These are indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, heating, or cooling used by the company.
Scope 3 Emissions
These include all other indirect emissions in a company’s value chain, such as emissions from the production of raw materials, transportation, or waste disposal.
How is this relevant to Trust me Habibi?
Focusing solely on reducing our direct emissions would limit the overall impact we can achieve. Instead, we prioritize tackling supply chain emissions (scope-3), where the majority of our footprint lies.
To address this, we’re actively investing in solar energy for our factory and sourcing sustainable materials, such as eco-friendly packaging. Additionally, we plan to conduct a full Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in 2026. This comprehensive analysis will allow us to measure our progress and report on our sustainability developments annually, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement.

Planting seeds
Education is the bedrock of society. The great old-Tunisian philosopher Ibn Khaldun (1332–1406), the world renowned sociologist of it's time, once said: “Learning is a natural human trait, but guidance and discipline refine it.”
This is why we allocate a portion of our proceeds to organize quarterly recycling workshops in elementary schools and farming communities. These workshops aim to raise awareness about personal waste collection practices and encourage collective responsibility for caring for our communities.
TMH's sustainable ambitions
-
Our CO2-footprint
Doing better starts by knowing. We want gain full insights in our complete footprint through the means of an LCA (Life Cycle Assesment), from which we can report on on a yearly basis. Our footprint should be concluded by the end of this year (2025).
-
Investing in our Scope-3
We want to give back to our community, and we start with our own facility. Starting in 2025; we want to our first steps into delevering a full-fledged solar panel PV system to help our Olive Oil factory mitigate the negative effects of energy consumption. This will reduce our footprint by aproximately 60%.
-
Plastic (-waste) collection
Plastic waste is a huge problem in Tunisia. Over the last 30 years, reports have shown over a 45% increase in plastic waste. This does not only negatively affects the environment but also becomes a health-risk for the local populace. We're planning to invest in setting up a local company whom picks up and cleans the local communities in the greater El Jem area (Mahdia Gouvernante).
